Father's day 2010

We are going to spend the day with my dad. We are going to drive to pick up an elderly relative on my moms side of the family, that my dad is still on contact with. This should be a fun day, and I plan to take lots of pictures.

Friday stuff

Approximately 9:05 pm

The quarter is over. I did as well as I could and will be ready for the next class. I am going to use another blog as a place holder for notes and ideas that I get from the readings and discussions. I am going to keep this blog to write my daily thoughts and tangents. I need to keep my mind active, and my morning Suduko and crossword puzzles are not enough anymore.

The cats in their sacred pillow room. We ordered eggplant parmesan for dinner. Dinner. I never used that word until I married my husband. The evening meal was always called Supper. But then I also never appreciated coffee before I got married either!

Thursday, June 17th

Good morning,

I am watching my cats prowl around the house. Moe is looking at me like he wants some lap time. Now he is looking at the window. Now, he is in the window. There is not much wildlife for him to see. We live on the third floor, so we look down on the street. From his vantage point, he can see a storage facility across the street, cars parked and moving, people walking, and ocassionally, a bunny or bird in the grass. Someday, I would like to live in a place where the can have access to a screened in porch. They would be able to go out there and smell the breeze and see the environment and be safe at the same time. At the cattery where they came from, come of the cats got to go outside to enjoy the air and get brushed. Neither Carmela or Moe got that pampering.

Later

I am sitting in the bedroom using my full screen computer. I was using my netbook, which is convenient, but also out in the living room with many distractions - cats, tv, food. I have my radio on, but it is more background noise, unless there is a good song. I am going to finish this assignment, so I can post it.

Wednesday stuff

I am up and working on school stuff. Fed the cats. Had some coffee. Husband cooking breakfast. We have gone meatless. I think our diet can be considered Mediterranean? Fruits, beans, veggies, some cheese. We have no bread, cookies, candy, or other sweets in the house. My husband is diabetic and sometimes has no self-control when it comes to snacks. He was raised with meat and potatoes with gravy, and I was raised with fish and steamed veggies. He finally realized how much the meat in his diet was affecting his whole health. Now he feels better and we have both lost weight.

Breakfast is ready: skillet potatoes, peppers, onions, and mushrooms with Parmesan cheese.

12:41 pm

Breakfast was yummy. He added peas to the mix. It was filling and tasty. Camela climbed on my lap and had a few licks of the oil. Then she settled down for a while resting her head on my arm. I went back to work for a while. Now we will go out and run some errands. Pharmacy, fruit store, grocery store.

When we get back, I will finish my work on one project and start another.

Later.

Edited 9:30 pm

We went on our errand run. I was nice to get out of the house and clear my head. We went to a produce store that was recommended to us by my mom. We got some good produce, and the prices were low, and my husband can get a hunk of feta cheese, but I like my other produce store better. I can take the narrow isles of Jerry's if I can get better prices.

The cats have been fed and are now in a ying/yang position in their heated bed. Carmela will be up and singing by the time I take my shower and head to bed.

My qualitative study evaluation paper is almost complete. I need to let it age overnight and then add the introduction in the morning. Then, it on to finishing another assignment.

I will be busy tomorrow.

Good night.

Tuesday text.

It has been a tough week. I am taking a graduate level course that calls for academic writing, but I never had any course in preparing me for the level of writing needed. I had a good conversation with one of my bosses today. I asked her about tips to improve my writing. She had some good suggestions. One of them was to write all the time. This means taking notes, jotting down ideas, blogging, etc. Not to worry about grammer or punctuation. That will come with time. Much of what she said that was poor writing, I had been doing. Writing in this forum is a first step for me. I don't care who reads it. I just want to write for writings sake. I think the more comfortable I am and less intimidated I feel, this will be a fun process. I may write about the weather, politics, work, and the craziness of life. My cats will benefit too, because their blog will be another writing outlet. Besides, they do cute and funny things.

Okay. I am tired and ready to hit the hay.

I will be back here tomorrow, ready to write.
